Privacy Policy

Chargerrr is an electric mobility service provider (eMSP) that helps you find chargers, start and stop charging sessions, and pay for the energy you use. This policy explains what personal information we handle to make that work, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Please read this policy alongside our Terms of Service. Together they govern your use of the Chargerrr mobile application, this website, and the charging, wallet and rewards features inside them (together, the Services).

01Who we are

Chargerrr Private Limited (“Chargerrr”, “we”, “us”) is the company behind the Services. Our registered office is at Building 112, 5th Floor, Sector-18, Kolkata, India.

We act as the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For questions about privacy, or to exercise any right listed below, write to sales@chargerrr.com or call +91-9836003316.

02What we collect

Information you give us

  • Your mobile number (used for OTP verification and to identify your account), name, and email address if you add one.
  • Your vehicle details — type, make and model, battery capacity — so range and charger recommendations fit your EV.
  • Saved places such as home and work, and your preferred charging locations.
  • Business or KYC documents where a fleet, commercial or partner account requires verification.
  • Anything you send us when you contact support: messages, call recordings, screenshots, charging receipts.

Information collected automatically

  • Device data: model, operating system, app version, network type, crash and diagnostic logs.
  • Location data: precise GPS while the app is in the foreground and you have granted permission, so we can show chargers near you and guide you to them. City-level or coarse location may be used for general content.
  • Charging session data: which station and connector you used, session start and end times, energy delivered in kWh, power drawn, and any faults or interruptions.
  • Payment data: wallet balance and top-ups, transaction identifiers, refunds, invoices, and the payment method or UPI handle you chose. Full card numbers, CVVs and UPI PINs are never stored by Chargerrr — they are handled by our licensed payment partners.
You can use the map to browse stations without an account. Features that need an account — starting a session, topping up the wallet, earning rewards — need the information above.

03How we use your information

  • To let you start, monitor and stop charging sessions at stations on our network.
  • To show you nearby and en-route chargers, availability and directions.
  • To operate your wallet: process top-ups, deduct charges, apply credits and issue refunds.
  • To generate invoices and satisfy tax, accounting and audit obligations.
  • To keep the Services safe — detect fraud, OTP abuse, payment abuse and abnormal charging patterns.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your requests and complaints.
  • To run rewards, referral and loyalty programmes and tell you about offers you have opted into.
  • To understand how the app is used, fix bugs and improve station coverage and reliability.
  • To comply with law, respond to valid legal requests and enforce our Terms of Service.

05Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share only what is necessary, and only with the parties below:

  • Charge point operators (CPOs) and station owners — your name or account reference, contact number, vehicle details and session information, so they can release, monitor and bill a charging session at their site.
  • Payment service providers, banks, UPI and card networks — to move money, settle transactions and process refunds.
  • Cloud hosting, storage, communications (SMS, email, push) and mapping providers that run the Services on our behalf.
  • Analytics and crash-reporting tools that help us measure usage and fix defects.
  • Professional advisers, auditors and insurers where needed.
  • Law enforcement, courts or regulators when we are legally required or permitted to do so.
  • A buyer or successor entity if our business is merged, acquired or restructured.

Every recipient is bound to use your information only for the purpose we shared it for, and we ask each of them to maintain safeguards comparable to ours.

06Cookies and similar technology

This website uses a small number of cookies and similar storage technologies: strictly necessary ones that keep the site working and remember your display preferences, and analytics ones that tell us which pages people visit. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working. The mobile app uses equivalent on-device storage for the same purposes.

07Where and how we store data

Your data is primarily stored on servers located in India. Some of our service providers may process data outside India; where they do, we require contractual and technical safeguards that give your information a standard of protection comparable to what you have here.

08How long we keep it

  • Account, vehicle and wallet records: while your account is open, and for a limited period afterwards so we can settle final charges, refunds and disputes.
  • Invoices, payment and tax records: up to eight years, as Indian law requires.
  • Charging session and telemetry logs: retained in a reduced form for network planning and fault investigation.
  • Support conversations: while your case is open and afterwards for quality and dispute handling.

When you close your account we delete or anonymise personal information that is no longer needed, except what we must keep by law. Requests to delete are actioned within thirty days of verification.

09How we protect it

We use transport-layer encryption, access controls with least privilege, monitored production systems, and regular reviews of who can reach personal data. Payment data is tokenised and handled by licensed partners rather than stored by us.

No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information and poses a risk to you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law. Report any suspected incident to the contact in section 13.

10Your rights and choices

You can ask us, free of charge, to:

  • Confirm whether we process your data and give you a copy of it.
  • Correct, complete or update inaccurate information, for example a changed vehicle or phone number.
  • Erase personal information we no longer need, subject to mandatory retention.
  • Withdraw consent you gave, at any time.
  • Nominate an individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
  • Lodge a grievance and have it escalated within our organisation.

Write to sales@chargerrr.com with the subject “Privacy request” and the mobile number on your account. We may ask you to verify your identity first, and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are unhappy with our response you may approach the relevant grievance forum or authority under applicable Indian law.

11Children

The Services are for adults aged 18 and above who can enter into a contract and hold a payment instrument. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our Services and the law evolve. The current version and its date are always published on this page. Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we will give you notice in the app or by another reasonable channel before it takes effect.
